Baltimore's Ferdinand named MISL Player of Week
Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Baltimore forward Max Ferdinand notched eight points Sunday to lead the Blast to a 17-6 win over the Missouri Comets and the 2010-11 regular-season title, and was named the Major Indoor Soccer League's Player of the Week.
Ferdinand scored two goals in a four-minute span of the second quarter to give Baltimore an 11-2 lead and also recorded three assists in the game. Ferdinand, the 2010 MISL Rookie of the Year, ranks second on the Blast with 43 points.
With the win, the Blast won the 2010-11 regular-season title and will host the 2011 MISL Championship Game on March 25.
The Milwaukee Wave, who ended second in the regular season, play third-place Missouri in a two-game semifinal series, with the winner advancing to face the Blast. The first leg of the semifinal is Wednesday and the second leg Sunday.
