Real Madrid confirmed on Monday that manager Jose Mourinho will leave the club at the end of the season after three years in charge.
The club called a press conference on Monday to make the announcement, with Madrid president Florentino Perez confirming what most have suspected for the past few months.
"We've decided to bring our relationship to an end at the end of the current season," said Perez. "The club and manager agree the timing is right to bring our relationship to an end. On behalf of the board of directors we would like to thank Jose Mourinho for all his hard work. The team have improved in his three years and we wish him all the best. It was the right moment."
