Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Brandon Rush had 20 points off the bench, including 15 in the fourth quarter, as Golden State held off Sacramento late for a 93-90 victory at ORACLE Arena.
David Lee and Dorell Wright each had 15 points, and Nate Robinson chipped in 11 as the Warriors have now won two of their last three.
Tyreke Evans just missed a triple-double with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists and DeMarcus Cousins added his sixth double-double in seven games scoring 21 points and pulling down 14 boards.
Jason Thompson also contributed a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards for the Kings, who are now 2-11 on the road and have lost five straight contests.
"From an offensive standpoint, we shot a good percentage tonight for our team," said Kings coach Keith Smart. "It's a positive for us, overall, and unfortunate we didn't get the win."
Back-to-back three-pointers from Isaiah Thomas made the game close late in the fourth as the Kings trailed, 88-82, with 1:36 remaining.
Thomas would add another three with just 2.8 seconds to go as the Kings pulled within one, 91-90, but Rush calmly sank two free-throws before an Evans heave from half court was off the mark and the Warriors held on for the victory.
Rush's free throw with 3:07 left in the third sparked an 18-3 run for the Warriors, who were able to hold the Kings without a point for the first five- plus minutes of the fourth quarter as Golden State jumped in front, 76-68, with less than seven minutes to play.
The two teams traded buckets in the first quarter with Golden State picking up the early 24-23 lead at the end of the first.
Sacramento turned the ball over 11 times in a sloppy first half but the Warriors 3-of-11 shooting from long range allowed the Kings to maintain a 47-45 lead entering halftime.
"This is a process," said Golden State head coach Mark Jackson. "We talked about second shot opportunities, giving them up, and we talked about taking care of the basketball, and we also talked about getting back in transition defensively and my guys did a great job of taking care of the basketball."
