Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Russell Westbrook poured in 30 points Tuesday
and Oklahoma City held off Memphis, 100-95, for its fourth straight win.
Playing for the fourth time in five nights, the Thunder also received 22
points and 11 rebounds from Kevin Durant. He made all eight of his foul shots,
including a pair of big ones in the closing minute.
"We came in and played hard in a tough environment and got a good win," said
Marc Gasol tallied 20 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks for the Grizzlies,
who have lost three in a row. Mike Conley ended with 15 points and 10 assists.
Quincy Pondexter hit a shot from beyond the arc to get the Grizzlies within
95-92 with 56.4 seconds left. Memphis then had a chance to possibly tie the
game on the following possession after Westbrook missed a jumper, but Rudy Gay
lost the ball out of bounds with 25.3 seconds to go.
Durant and Kendrick Perkins both drained two free throws down the stretch to
help the Thunder create an eight-point lead in the closing seconds, putting
the game out of reach for Memphis.
